Clemens Busch Winery
In Pünderich, where the Moselle pushes through a narrow bend and the slopes drop steeply to the river, is the Clemens Busch vineyard, run by its namesake, partner Rita and son Johannes.
Two years of ageing on the lees turn the "Marienburg Fahrlay Riesling" from Clemens Busch into a "reserve". The 2016 vintage, which was only released in 2019, is complex and inviting with a wonderful aroma of pears and apples, medlars and juniper, iodine, oyster shell and citrus fruits. On the palate, the Riesling is sensual and supple, dense and complex with a high intensity of herbs and rocks, as well as an immense juiciness. VINOUS, JAMES SUCKLING and MOSEL FINE WINES awarded it 94 points, ROBERT PARKER even gave it 97 points.
