Pol Roger's premium cuvée displays lots of yellow fruit, accompanied by hints of mandarin, freshly baked baguette and brioche. All this is embedded in a powerful yet supple and smooth body – thanks to Pol Roger's Pinot Noir-oriented style (although the house keeps the exact composition a secret). This champagne spent an impressive eleven years on the lees, and its ultra-fine mousse and creamy, melt-in-the-mouth texture are the reward for this patience. The grapes come exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. The powerful yet highly elegant character of this Churchill suggests a pairing idea: combining the namesake's favourite champagne with his favourite cigar – a Romeo y Julieta in Churchill format, a.k.a. Julieta No. 2.
