The "Yattarna" has been one of Australia's great Chardonnays for many years and can confidently be regarded as the white counterpart to the red "Grange". The 2020 vintage is the crowning glory of a series of outstanding wines to date. In the indigenous Aboriginal language, "Yattarna" means "little by little", "gradually", and so the wine has gradually reached ever greater heights over 25 years. Accordingly, the 2020 "Yattarna" is rated 98 points by both Robert Parker and James Halliday! The Chardonnay is extremely elegant, fine and fragrant. On the palate, it offers "a masterful display of delicious precision and freshness, but with the complexity of a great Chardonnay", as James Halliday rightly puts it.

The place of origin and "spiritual home" of the Penfolds Winery is the Magill Estate, just a few minutes from Adelaide. in 1844, Christopher and Mary Jenfeld planted vine cuttings that they had taken with them on their trip to Australia.
