So what could be more fitting than producing your own champagne for Penfolds' 175th anniversary celebrations in Australia? No, not an Australian sparkling wine, but a genuine champagne. Vinified under the guidance of Penfolds' Chief Winemaker Peter Gago from Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes from Avize at partner Champagne Thiénot. The result is a champagne like a laser beam: extremely pure, extremely precise, with a dosage of just 2 g/l. An experiment so successful that there are now five different champagne lines in the Penfolds portfolio.
