Winery A. Christmann Idig Riesling GG Magnum 2018

Palatinate, Germany, White wine, Riesling
1.50 l

A good 6.5 hectares at the heart of the Königsbacher Idig are classified as a "VDP. Grosse Lage' classification. Four hectares of this area are owned by Weingut A. Christmann winery. Terra fusca interspersed with limestone and black basalt - a soil with excellent water retention potential - forms the basis for the Grosse Gewächse wines here. Alongside Pinot Noir, it is Riesling in particular that has established Idig's outstanding reputation. The 2018 vintage captivates with an enormously complex bouquet, in which stone fruit, floral notes of white flowers, wild herbs and spices come together in a perfectly balanced, highly elegant yet opulent rendezvous. A great Riesling full of flavour and yet clear and precise.

His heart beats for fine, terroir-influenced Rieslings. Sophie's passion is Pinot Noir.
