Winery A. Christmann Idig Riesling GG Magnum 2017

Palatinate, Germany, White wine, Riesling
1.50 l

If you want to experience the greatness of classically vinified growths from the Palatinate, we recommend the wines from the Idig from the A. Christmann winery. Limestone minerality and acidity meet an incredibly opulent and multi-layered aroma with lots of stone fruit and exotic fruit, nutty and floral hints of white flowers. Still restrained when fresh in the glass, the wine opens up and changes with every minute. Despite its density and intensity, it always remains elegant and almost perfectly harmonious. James Suckling calls the 2017 "Idig' a "gentle giant' and awards it a proud 99 points. Now at the beginning of its perfect maturity phase, it offers potential for at least another decade.

Christmann Winery

The Christmann Winery is located in the Palatinate region of Mittelhaardt, one of the most important wine-growing landscapes in Germany. The family has owned parcels of land in the region since the end of the 18th century, and today Steffen and daughter Sophie run the business together. His heart beats for fine, terroir-influenced Rieslings. Sophie's passion is Pinot Noir.
