It is dedicated to the man who originally owned the land of the Tenuta and who, back in 1820, planted the first of the cypress trees that still shape the landscape of Bolgheri today. Composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, this red is noticeably more approachable in its youth than "Sassi,? yet it unmistakably reveals its connection to the iconic wine at every turn. Bursting with fruit (wild berries, blackberry, cassis) and layered with spice (wild herbs, cedar, pepper, juniper), it delivers all this with an almost outrageous price-to-quality ratio.
