Domaine Faiveley Meursault 1er cru Charmes 2023

The 2023 Meursault 1er Cru from Domaine Faively is a prestige Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune that could scarcely be more exemplary. It strikes a perfect balance between intensity and density on the one hand, and finesse and elegance on the other. The bouquet, too, is almost a blueprint for Chardonnay crus: white fruit, hazelnut, floral notes, a hint of honey and a touch of vanilla dominate the nose. The palate is caressed by a silky, dense texture, fresh, lively acidity and remarkably vibrant minerality. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation took place over four weeks in French oak barriques, with just under 50 per cent new wood, followed by a maturation period of 17 to 18 months.
