Château Batailley has always been a Pauillac with classic volume. Typical of Batailley, it is dense and powerful with lots of cassis, cedar wood, pencil, cedar, tobacco and violets. Tight and elegant on the palate, with fine-grained tannins and clear acidity; the fruit remains dark and cool, the wood is perfectly integrated, and the finish is long, salty and confident. The ideal drinking window is from 2029 to 2050+, but right now the wine needs plenty of air! A vintage that combines Pauillac clarity and serious depth.
