Domaine Faiveley Meursault 2024
Meursault is rightly considered the capital of white Burgundies?and few producers handle this appellation with such mastery as Faiveley. In the challenging, rainy year of 2024, he produced a Village wine here whose character elegantly reflects that of the vintage: no opulent richness, nothing over-the-top?instead, pronounced freshness and impressive precision. Pale yellow in the glass, it develops a delicate interplay of white and yellow fruits on the nose?pear, white peach, a hint of mirabelle plum?underpinned by subtle vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it starts with a round attack, followed by lively citrus acidity balanced by a subtle buttery note. The finish then reveals the delicate almond note so typical of a Meursault Chardonnay.
