Paul Clüver Chardonnay Prieur Colline du Matin 2024

This wine owes its existence to the long-standing friendship between Paul Clüver of Paul Clüver Family Wines and Martin Prieur of Domaine Jacques Prieur. Their plan: to combine Burgundian precision and finesse with the cool-climate freshness of South Africa's Elgin Valley. A single vineyard was planted specifically for this ambitious project; the wine is named in French after the vineyard's Afrikaans name: Oggendkop or Colline du Matin. Hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented and aged in French oak – the winemaking process reflects the high ambitions of its creators. They ultimately select what they consider to be the two best barriques for the blend. Consequently, the production run is limited: in 2024, just 1,050 bottles of this very special Chardonnay with a very special history were produced.
