Winery Hirtl Grüner Veltliner Classic 2025

A Veltliner from the finest Poysdorf vineyards, which could hardly be more typical. Clear and fresh, not too concentrated, with lively acidity and a moderate alcohol content (11.5 % vol.). Stone fruit dominates the bouquet, gradually joined by the herbal notes characteristic of Veltliner. At Hirtl, the vineyards are managed according to the principles of "Nachhaltig Austria'; the reduction in yield – essential for achieving better quality – is achieved through grape thinning. Nevertheless, with its uncomplicated freshness, this Veltliner is not a great wine. But it doesn't set out to be one – and that is precisely why, in our view, it is a perfect, unobtrusive accompaniment to classic Austrian pub fare.
