Tenuta dell'Ornellaia: Poggio alle Gazze 2024

Poggio alle Gazze is the name of Tenuta Ornellaia's white wine. Of course, the estate is primarily renowned for its reds – but it would be a shame to overlook this fine cuvée made from Sauvignon Blanc, Vermentino and smaller quantities of Sémillon and Viognier. Harvested in 15-kg crates early in the morning, meticulously selected, slowly pressed under protective conditions to prevent oxidation, and aged in four different types of containers – in Bolgheri, the same uncompromising approach that has made Ornellaia's reds famous is applied to the white as well. And it has proved successful once again in 2024. The reward for this meticulous winemaking is a highly complex, aromatic burst of energy. With tropical fruit and local herbs, intense yet elegant, with fine acidity, subtle oak and a briny freshness.
