The cuvée, comprising 51% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, combines a concentration and depth that is exceptional even for Cheval Blanc, with an alcohol content of just 12.7% by volume. The nose offers a fascinatingly complex bouquet. On the palate, the wine displays an almost perfect balance of fruit richness, freshness and minerality. The tannins are seamlessly integrated, the texture is silky and precise, whilst a vibrant energy runs through the wine. Despite the extremely low yields of just 15 hectolitres per hectare, the focus is not on power but on elegance. It could hardly be better. This will be one of the truly great Cheval Blancs of the modern era.
