Erwin Sabathi demonstrates just how precisely and elegantly Austrian Pinot Noir can be interpreted today. The cool climate of Southern Styria lends the wine freshness and vibrancy, while careful aging in oak adds depth. On the nose, red cherries, raspberries, and cranberries, rose hips, and blackberries emerge, along with floral notes, subtle herbal spice, and hints of smoke and licorice. On the palate, the wine is juicy and silky, with fine-grained tannins, lively acidity, and remarkable clarity. Unlike many powerful Pinot styles, Sabathi focuses on transparency and finesse.
