Wineyard Ken Forrester The FMC 2025

The grapes for Mr. Chenin Ken Forrester's "The FMC? come from an old vineyard planted in 1974. Yields are correspondingly low?but so is the spectacular quality of this Chenin Blanc. Hand-harvested in up to 14 (!) passes, spontaneously fermented in 50% new barriques, and finally aged for 12 months on the fine lees. Since 2000, this process has produced a wine that the estate very aptly calls an "Icon Chenin? on its website. The 2025 vintage presents itself with a golden color, featuring an intense fruit bouquet (peach, yellow plum, pineapple), ginger, vanilla, candied orange, and a hint of almond. On the palate, it reveals a lively acidity alongside notes of brioche and crème brûlée, elderflower and orange blossom, and a deep, subtly salty minerality.
