Château Troplong Mondot 2025 is undoubtedly one of the absolute top wines from the Right Bank this year. Aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, black cherries and plums rise from the glass, accompanied by violets, iris, liquorice, dark chocolate and subtle herbal notes. On the palate, the wine is dense and powerful, yet at the same time elegant and straightforward. Chalky minerality, lively acidity and perfectly ripened tannins provide structure. Despite its concentration, the 2025 remains balanced and lively, and the long, salty finish, characterised by dark fruit, lends it additional complexity. A Troplong Mondot with "up to 100 points' from Wine Advocate. A Saint-Émilion to kneel before, among the very best this estate has produced to date.

Château Troplong Mondot

Château Troplong Mondot was founded in the 18th century. More recently, it was the late Christine Valete who helped the château to new fame with her commitment from the 1980s onwards. Together with oenologist Michelle Roland, she led Troplong Mondot to the top. This was followed in 2006 by the promotion to the Premiers Grands Crus Classés.
