Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2022

Antinori itself describes this "Riserva? as a reinterpretation of Chianti Classico. In contrast to the "Classico? from Tenuta Tignanello, Villa Antinori takes a more cautious approach to modern winemaking techniques. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless steel, followed by aging primarily?though not exclusively?in large oak barrels. Antinori keeps the blend of varieties complementing the overwhelmingly dominant Sangiovese a secret. The estate cultivates both traditional and modern grape varieties. Either way, the result is a flattering Chianti with attractive blackberry, medlar, and raspberry fruit, along with notes of tobacco, candied lemon, and cocoa.
