Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne blanc 2023

Benjamin Leroux's 2023 Bourgogne Blanc opens with a fresh, initially slightly reductive character. As it breathes, notes of green apple, pear, and white fruits emerge, followed later by juicier yellow fruit. On the palate, it starts off gentle and straightforward, with medium body, sufficient acidity, and a fine, creamy texture. The oak remains aromatically in the background and is most noticeable in the mouthfeel. The Chardonnay was aged in 12-hl and 600-liter barrels, then spent another month in tank. A balanced, crisp Bourgogne Blanc with a juicy, apple-like finish and a lovely, easy-drinking quality.
