Marchesi Antinori / Castello della Sala Bramito Chardonnay 2025

Castello della Sala in north-western Umbria is a 14th-century estate, owned by the Antinori family since 1940. The Bramìto is 100% Chardonnay from chalky clay and sandy soils full of marine fossils, at 220 to 470 metres of altitude. Part of the must ferments in French barriques, the rest in stainless steel, and the wine then rests on its fine lees for around three months. Yellow apple, pear and citrus zest, with toasted hazelnut and a hint of vanilla behind. Juicy and straightforward on the palate, with lively acidity, a creamy texture and a salty, mineral note on the finish. A Chardonnay with a Burgundian signature.
