Winery Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Kirchenstück G. C. 2025
The Forster Kirchenstück is considered one of the great Riesling vineyards in the Palatinate and was awarded the highest rating in the Royal Bavarian vineyard classification as early as 1828. Basalt rock and dense layers of clay and sand characterize this terroir, which spans just four hectares. The 2025 vintage initially appears stony and dark, almost closed off, before gradually revealing citrus notes and subtle hints of chalk dust. On the palate, a certain extract sweetness is initially surprising, but the wine finishes distinctly dry. Enormous energy, power, and clarity define the long finish. Still very young and underdeveloped, this Kirchenstück possesses tension, depth, and great aging potential.
