Schloss Johannisberg Silberlack Riesling GG 2024
The Silberlack is Schloss Johannisberg's "Großes Gewächs??100% Riesling from the 50-hectare, fully contiguous Schloss vineyard. The soil is characterized by Taunus quartzite, clay, loess, and a touch of iron. After selective hand-harvesting and gentle pressing, the 2024 vintage fermented in 1,200-liter barrels made from the estate's own oak and remained on the fine lees until bottling in early summer 2026. The nose reveals apricot, mirabelle plum, juicy apple, and a subtle smokiness, along with almonds and a cool, mineral-driven spice. On the palate, the "Silberlack? is firm yet supple, with a delicate creaminess, a salty note, and lively acidity. A precise, elegant Rheingau Riesling with plenty of substance and long aging potential.
