This VDP.Erstes Gewächs Pinot Blanc comes from the Himmelreich vineyard in Zscheiplitz, where loess-loam over shell limestone provides body and power. The wine underwent spontaneous fermentation in wood and, as a result, displays a successful blend of ripe fruit, spice, and structure. Pear, yellow apple, nectarine, and a hint of quince mingle with yeast, hazelnut, and a subtle woody note. On the palate, the 2023 vintage is creamy and powerful, yet at the same time taut and precise. The acidity provides definition, while a chalky minerality in the background adds tension. A Pinot Blanc with depth, length, and good aging potential.

Böhme & Töchter Winery

Böhme & Töchter is one of a small group of estates that have significantly transformed the landscape of the Saale-Unstrut region in recent years. The winery is situated in Gleina, somewhat off the beaten track from the better-known wine villages along the Unstrut, and is now run by Marika (née Böhme) and her husband Sandro Sperk. Since 2022, the family-run business, which covers around six hectares, has been a member of the VDP.
