Winery Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Forst Riesling Village 2025
The "Forst Riesling Village? 2025 comes from young vines in the renowned Grand Cru vineyards of Jesuitengarten and Pechstein. The geological foundation is characterized by calcareous marl, sandstone, and volcanic basalt. The typical Forst character is already evident in the aroma, with dark spice, stone, smoke, yeast, and graphite. Gradually, notes of kumquat, grapefruit, and lemon emerge, along with apple, peach, and a hint of mint. On the palate, the Riesling feels ripe but by no means opulent; rather, it is focused, refined, and elegant. The lively acidity and subtle 4 g/l of residual sugar provide clarity and drive, while the vintage's low yields lend additional concentration. In the long finish, the dark spice, a hint of anise, and the mineral tension characteristic of basalt return.
