Philipponnat Rosé Brut
Champagne Philipponnat
"The Brut Rosé is all charm,? writes Antonio Galloni in Vinous, "yet it also has plenty of substance.? The cuvée is based on 68% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 2% Meunier, supplemented by about 7 to 8% red wine and Rosé de Saignée from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Les Riceys. The aroma reveals crushed red berries, mint, chalk, white pepper, and dried herbs, along with floral notes. On the palate, the champagne is juicy, smooth, and generous, yet remains precise and fresh. Three to four years of aging on the lees and reserve wines from the Réserve Perpétuelle lend additional depth. The dosage of 9 g/l balances fruit and wine character without overshadowing the clear, elegant profile.
