It’s picnic time!

Have you already picked out a shady spot for the weekend where you can beat the heat? Perhaps somewhere by a lake where you can take a dip to cool off now and then? Are the ice packs in the freezer? Have you invited some friends? For our picnic, we’re currently thinking of five wines and something non-alcoholic. So pack a blanket, some glasses and your favourite people – we’ve already picked out the perfect wines for you.
Discover our picnic favourites now and enjoy the summer sip by sip.

The Vi Nicola CINQUE GRADI 2025 brings Italian joie de vivre to your glass. Light and fresh, dry, aromatic and uncomplicated, with just 5% alcohol.

If you love rosé, go for the Château de Calavon Rosé Provence 2024. With its delicate fruit, herbal notes and typical Mediterranean elegance and freshness, it’s perfect for summer picnics, salads, grilled vegetables or a selection of light starters.

From South Africa comes the Beaumont Family Wines Chenin Blanc 2024, which delights with its juicy fruit, invigorating freshness and fine structure. A versatile white wine for quiche, poultry, goat’s cheese or summer vegetable dishes.

Also from South Africa, but a completely different style of wine, is the Groote Post Seasalter Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2023. The combination of freshness, spice and body makes it the perfect accompaniment to fish, seafood and sophisticated picnic dishes.

And for those who don’t want to miss out on red wine even at a picnic, the Torre de Oña Finca San Martín Rioja Crianza 2021 is the ideal choice. Juicy red fruits, subtle spice and supple tannins harmonise wonderfully with grilled meat, chorizo or mature cheese.

And for those who aren’t quite so keen on wine in this heat, we’ve naturally got something for you too: The Juicy Tea Riesling-Verbena-Jasmine from Obstkelterei van Nahmen is our personal summer favourite: Riesling provides the fruit, whilst jasmine tea, verbena and mint add ethereal and herbal notes, and quince rounds the whole thing off. Juicy, fresh, lively and gently sparkling, this is the ideal drink for days like these.

The collective of three young winegrowers from the Alta Langa around Castino was born out of the idea of producing wines that are significantly lighter, fresher and drinkable earlier than the classic powerful growths of Piedmont.
