Albert, Silvia, Francesca and Konstantin Gesellmann are the family that today runs one of the best wineries in Burgenland and produces wines with a strong character that are typical of the region in harmony with nature.

Today, the winery has 50 hectares of vineyards around the central Burgenland town of Deutschkreutz. For Albert Gesellmann and his family, it was clear from the outset that these vineyards should be integrated as far as possible into the complex ecosystem of their surroundings, which is why they gradually converted the winery to organic farming, which was officially completed in 2015 with organic certification.

The development of the Gesellmanns' wine style is typical. The winery, which was first mentioned in 1719, was part of the Austrian „red wine miracle“ in the late 1980s and early 1990s with the red wine cuvées „Opus Eximium“ and „Bela Rex“, when wines were launched on the market that quickly became export hits with their richness and density. Over time, the wines became ever finer, more elegant and livelier. The Gesellmanns mainly grow the indigenous varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and St. Laurent, but also single-varietal Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet. The „G“ is a cuvée of up to 90-year-old Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent, while the „hochberc“ is the estate's best Blaufränkisch.

The Gesellmanns have also long since earned an excellent reputation for their white wines. Here, too, there is a „hochberc“, in this case from a 50-year-old Gemischter Satz. In addition, there is the „Chardonnay Ried Steinriegel“ as a single-varietal reference. This makes the winery one of the few to receive the full five out of five stars in Falstaff.
