This outstanding Blaufränkisch from Christoph Wachter comes from the Saybritz vineyard in the Eisenberg appellation. The wine smells meatier, more reductive and more concentrated than it presents itself on the palate. There it is elegant, silky and incredibly charming with a wonderfully balanced tannin that goes very well with the dark, fleshy fruit and crystalline acidity. The wine has velvet and crunch in equal measure and more than does justice to the outstanding, famous terroir.
