Glaetzer Wines
When Australian wine has Brandenburg roots, there must be a special family history behind it. in 1888, the Glaetzers landed in Adelaide to settle in the nearby Barossa Valley.
Glaetzer's "Anaperenna" is a classic Australian cuvée made from 82 % Shiraz and 18 5 Cabernet Sauvignon. Both grape varieties come from the legendary Ebenezer District in the Barossa Valley, where Australia's oldest vines, some of which are almost 200 years old, can be found. The wine was matured for 16 months in 92% new French and 8% American barrels. Ben Glaetzer compares the 2017 vintage with 2005 and 2015: "I like the savoury tannin structure. The wines just need time." The 2017 "Anaperenna" is reminiscent of mint, star anise and moss, raspberries, blueberries and cassis as well as dark chocolate and tamari. On the palate, it is rich and velvety, supple and sensual, but never seems heavy despite its richness. It is a wine of great concentration, energy and intensity.
