Winery Dr. Bürklin Wolf Hommage à Luise Riesling 2021
It is a light and fresh homage to Luise Wolf - the woman who, through her marriage to Dr. Abert Bürklin in 1875, brought not only her middle name but also some of the estate's best vineyards into the marriage as a dowry. The style of the wine does justice to its historical significance: this homage is traditional and classic, but anything but old-fashioned. The 2021 vintage shows a fine competition between green apple and ripe vineyard peach, the clear, incredibly flattering residual sweetness always remains elegant, almost dancing, thanks to the radiantly bright, balancing acidity. A fruit-sweet Riesling of the finest old school, as if specially created to compete with the spiciness and exoticism of Indian or Chinese dishes.
