Napa Valley Cabernet seen through Australian glasses is the short version of the story behind Penfolds "BIN 704'. The Australian winery, which produces one of the most legendary icon wines in the world with the "Grange' and has over 60 years of expertise in single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon vinification alongside Shiraz, has ventured into the northern hemisphere. In addition to other sites in Sonoma and Paso Robles, the grapes for the "BIN 704' grow in the Napa Valley, whose name alludes equally to the Cabernet flagship "BIN 707' - some consider this Cabernet to be on a par with the "Grange' - and the "BIN 407', which is also Cabernet-based. Critics across the board praise the fullness of flavour, the silky, perfectly integrated tannins and the remarkably early accessibility.

The place of origin and "spiritual home" of the Penfolds Winery is the Magill Estate, just a few minutes from Adelaide. in 1844, Christopher and Mary Jenfeld planted vine cuttings that they had taken with them on their trip to Australia.
