Domäne Wachau
Domäne Wachau, under the management of Roman Horvath and Heinz Frischengruber, is not only one of the most important wine estates in Austria, but also an association of over 40 winegrowers and winegrowing families.
This lively Grüner Veltliner comes from the Liebenberg vineyard in Dürnstein, whose steeply terraced south-facing slopes are characterized by weathered gneiss soils. The "Federspiel? is an excellent wine that can easily be classified as a "Grand Cru? of the region. The bright yellow-green wine captivates with an intense mineral and stony aroma, which is combined with white flowers and planty notes. Above all, however, this is a structured and textured wine with terrific crystalline clarity and precision, a long, powerful acidity curve, vitality and lemony-salty nuances in the mouthwatering finish. "Wonderful!? writes Stephan Reinhardt in WINE ADVOCATE and gives it 94 points.
