Winery Vilafonté vilafonté series C 2020
The 2020 "Series C? is a cuvée made from 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 10% Malbec and 8% Cabernet Franc. The wine matured for 22 months in French oak, 68% of which was new, before being bottled. It is a powerful and complex South African that needs time in the bottle. It smells intensely of bread crust, cedar, graphite and dark berries, stewed plums with winter spices and oak. On the palate, the wine is generous and dense with a demanding tannin grip, lots of fleshy, dark fruit, elegance and finesse at the same time. A wine with great potential.
