When we asked the great winemaker from Lafite Eric Kohler at the Primeur which vintage his 2021 reminds him of, he spontaneously said: A blend of 2001 and 1996! This shows that 2021, at least at Lafite Rothschild, is by no means a "minor vintage?. The wine virtually intoxicates the senses with its sensual florality and elegant fruit. Violets, rose petals and plenty of licorice. An almost endless mineral finish completes the great Lafite show!

Some may also have picked up that a bottle from the estate of Thomas Jefferson fetched a price of 160,000 dollars at an auction in 1985.
