Firstly, under the new owners and with the help of the enormous changes in the cellar, the wine shows an incredible perfection. It has become more delicate and more accessible. And secondly, the Grand Vin is now made exclusively from the best parcels facing the Gironde. These two measures bring the deuxième Cru Classé high in the north of the Médoc to the level of the Premier Cru in terms of quality! Everything is right here... incredible pressure on the palate, ripe and silky tannins, complex aromas of cassis and dark cherry with floral hints, plus fine acidity and minerality on the intense finish. In the Saint-Estèphe appellation, on the banks of the Gironde, lies the Deuxième-Grand-Cru-Classé-Château Montrose. Wine was only cultivated here comparatively late, since 1815. Almost 200 years later, the entrepreneurs Martin and Olivier Bouygues acquired the vineyard and invested with the aim of preserving the historic Bordeaux heritage.
