Château Canon
The terroir of Canon is one of the best in the whole of Saint-Émilion and the vineyard is one of the most traditional and important. After extensive replanting, the quality has once again reached the top.
Château Canon 1er GCC B St. Emilion 2025
The Château Canon 2025 combines the richness of the vintage with the cool elegance of the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion. On the nose, there are notes of cherries, wild strawberries, violets, herbs and subtle hints of chalk. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet exceptionally precise, underpinned by a salty minerality and silky, tightly woven tannins. The fruit remains consistently fresh and clear, with a long finish evoking red berries, blood orange and limestone. Canon has once again achieved a balance of power, finesse and transparency. The wine, a blend of 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc, has 14% alcohol and is expected to reach its first peak of drinkability from around 2032, yet it has the potential to age for several decades and is even rated by Antonio Galloni for 100 points!
