Weingut Wieninger Pinot Noir Select 2023

The grapes for the Pinot Noir Select 2023 come from selected vineyards on the Bisamberg and Nussberg, where they were fully destemmed and undergo spontaneous fermentation. The wine was aged for 18 months in barriques, 20 per cent of which were new oak. The chalky, well-drained soils and the constant wind create excellent conditions for Pinot Noir, particularly on the Bisamberg. The nose reveals ripe cherries, cranberries, raspberries and plums, accompanied by subtle spice and hints of orange, smoke and spice. On the palate, it is juicy and elegant, delicate and fragrant with cool fruit, a mineral edge, lively acidity and fine tannins. A Viennese Pinot with great finesse and excellent ageing potential.
