The 2025 "Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling GG? comes from vines planted in 1949?the same vintage as Helmut Dönnhoff. Grown on slate, the wine initially reveals bright lemon and just a hint of flint, along with yellow flowers, acacia, almond, and subtle spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it starts off almost creamy and floral, but quickly gains tension, structure, and mineral precision. The fruit is crystal-clear, the acidity steely and energetic. The long finish brings together citrus, spices, and stony coolness. A highly concentrated, crystalline Hermannshöhle with tremendous drive and great aging potential. Anne Krebiehl MW awards it 97–99 points.

The Dönnhoff wine estate in Oberhausen on the Nahe has been in existence for over 250 years. Today it is run by Cornelius Dönnhoff, the fourth generation of the family to do so. Kreuznacher Kahlenberg, Roxheimer Höllenpfad, Krötenötenpfuhl or Dellchen. Dönnhoff has ten large vineyards that are among the best in the region - and here, on volcanic and slate rock, he produces primarily Rieslings of international renown.
