The 2025 "Weißburgunder? comes from the hillsides of the Middle Nahe region, where the 20- to 45-year-old vines grow on weathered porphyry and water-rich loess-loam. After selective hand-harvesting, the wine ferments in classic large German oak barrels, where it matures for about five months. The nose reveals notes of pear, light apple, a hint of citrus zest, and delicate floral aromas, complemented by a subtle nutty spice. On the palate, the wine is crisp, dry, and smooth, with a delicate creaminess, cool tension, and a mineral edge. The large oak barrels provide structure without imposing themselves aromatically. An elegant, precise Pinot Blanc with plenty of freshness and refined body.

The Dönnhoff wine estate in Oberhausen on the Nahe has been in existence for over 250 years. Today it is run by Cornelius Dönnhoff, the fourth generation of the family to do so. Kreuznacher Kahlenberg, Roxheimer Höllenpfad, Krötenötenpfuhl or Dellchen. Dönnhoff has ten large vineyards that are among the best in the region - and here, on volcanic and slate rock, he produces primarily Rieslings of international renown.
