Buy wines from Château Larrieu Terrefort
Château Larrieu Terrefort is one of a small group of Margaux vineyards that were not included in the 1855 classification, but have a very good terroir, so that today they produce wines with an excellent price-pleasure ratio.
The Terrefort estate came into the possession of its namesake Laurent Larrieu, a famous surgeon and royal professor, at the end of the 18th century. Before that, it belonged to such important families as Masparrault, Brane and Dourmec. The current estate, which also includes Château Cusseau, has three different terroirs with Macau and Labarde gravel, alluvial soils and sandy gravel. The wine is mostly made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. After mechanical harvesting and manual sorting of the grapes, the wine ferments classically and matures for 12 months in barrels, a third of which are new.
