Viña Almaviva Winery

„A great French-Chilean wine.“

Some wines are created on centuries-old family land. Others are the result of clever strategic partnerships - such as Almaviva from Chile, the result of a joint venture between Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and Don Alfonso Larraín, President of Concha y Toro.

In a nutshell, this is also the combination of the unique wine expertise of one of the most famous houses from the Bordelais with the outstanding climatic and geographical conditions of the best Chilean wine-growing region of all.

The ground-breaking cellar, which was designed by star designer Martín Hurtado, ensures perfect conditions for ageing and storage. This can justifiably be called state of the art. However, the outstanding wines are primarily produced in the 40 hectares of high-altitude vineyards, which are supplied by drip irrigation using the highly mineralised Andean water. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carmenère are also grown. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel fermenters and the wine is aged in French barriques.
