Buy wines from Vranken-Pommery Monopole
The group of companies is one of the largest champagne producers and combines the brands Vranken Demoiselle, Vranken Diamant, Pommery, Charles Lafitte and Heidsieck & Co Monopole. In addition to the properties for champagne production, there are also vineyards and cultivated areas in the Camargue, Provence, Portugal, southern England and the Napa Valley.
born in Liège in 1947, Paul-François Vranken studied law in his home town. But he soon swapped the dry law for the sparkling liquid: the British drinks manufacturer Bass and Charrington entrusted the 23-year-old with the distribution of the De Castellane champagne brand. His employer was not disappointed.
With his profit share, the young entrepreneur bought 16 tonnes of grapes from Champagne and founded his own champagne brand - Vranken - in 1976. Paul-François was so successful that he was able to take over the Veuve Monnier brand two years later.
This was followed in the 1980s by the Champagne Charles Lafitte brand and other trading houses as well as the first wine estates. in 1996, the company acquired Heidsieck & Co Monopole, later the port wine house Rozès and in 2002 the traditional champagne label Pommery.
in 2009, Vranken Pommery Monopole merged with the Domaine Royal de Jarras and Listel in the Camargue.
