In addition to the single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, a cuvée of the two varieties is also part of the top line of the Paso Robles top wine estate DAOU. In 2019, it consists of almost equal parts (52% to 48%) of the two Cabernet siblings and was aged for almost two years in 100% new French wood. The result combines the best aspects of both grape varieties in the finest harmony. Flesh and minerality merge with lavishly opulent fruit (cassis) with coffee, liquorice and chocolate. All of this is brought together and held together by an underlying framework of finely polished tannins and perfectly integrated fresh acidity.

"Daou" is basically nothing less than synonymous with the highest quality, highly decorated Bordeaux-style red wines from Paso Roble, the wine-growing region between the West Coast metropolises of Los Angeles and San Francisco. The vineyards of the brothers Daniel and Georges Daou are located in the western hills of this area.
