The grapes for "Les Amis' come from the dry-farmed Slade Vineyard in Greenock. It is a single-varietal Grenache that was matured for 24 months in French barriques (40% new). Rather pale in colour, the wine offers plenty of sour cherry, blackberry, raspberry and redcurrant, violets and kirsch, some star anise, cinnamon and liquorice. On the palate, this powerful wine offers a juicy, dense and lively fruit intensity with a concentration of perfect balance and elegance. A great, single-varietal Grenache that is rare in Australia.
