Following the 2021 Jubilum, this is the second vintage of single-varietal Grenache that Louis Barruol of Saint Cosme has bottled exclusively for us. Saint Cosme is synonymous with a wealth of tradition – the Barruol family has been running the estate for fifteen (!) generations – and at least as much excellence. Single-varietal red wines are a rarity in the southern Rhône, particularly in Gigondas, where the AOC regulations stipulate a minimum of 15 per cent Syrah and/or Mourvèdre. We are therefore all the more delighted to feature this rare special bottling in our portfolio. Intense and ripe berry fruit combines here with garrigue herbality, a touch of liquorice and a hint of forest floor to create an incredibly juicy and spicy blend with an exceptionally seductive drinking character.
