The relatively small 1er Cru winery Pavie Macquin owns vineyards in what is probably the best terroir on the Côte de Pavie. A few years ago, there was a little too much power in the wine, but it now displays the finesse that this exceptional terroir can deliver. The 2023 in particular impresses with its beauty of finesse and florality, accompanied by a fine, refreshing acidity. Next to Canon, probably the finest of all St. Emilions!

The estate is owned by the third generation of the Corre-Macquin family, who were able to recruit the duo Nicolas Thienpont and Stéphane Derenoncourt as winery director and advisor as early as 1994. Today, Cyrille Thienpont increasingly takes over from his father, and their names have long stood for excellence.
