Château Lafite Rothschild 1er GCC Pauillac double magnum 2021

Bordeaux, France, Red wine, wine cuvée
3.00 l

The Primus inter Pares was already in the top position in the famous classification published in 1855, which was well justified due to its quality and price development and still is today. Lafite Rothschild is always somewhat unapproachable in the Primeur and only develops over time into the highly elegant, complex wine that has earned it many a top rating. The 2020 vintage is another example of this. It displays that famous lavish aroma of violets, cassis, graphite, the finest tobacco and cedar wood, which is so typical of Pauillac but especially of Lafite Rothschild. The wine has such complexity and finesse that you can't help but be amazed - and that with only 12.8 % alcohol.

Château Lafite-Rothschild

There are supposed to be people who have no interest whatsoever in wine. And even they "of course" know the name "Lafite-Rothschild" and know that it is one of the most famous wineries of all. Some may also have picked up that a bottle from the estate of Thomas Jefferson fetched a price of 160,000 dollars at an auction in 1985.
