Betz Family Winery
Washington State is now the second largest wine-growing state in the USA. But when Bob Betz founded his winery there with his family in 1997, he was one of the pioneers. Today, Betz wines are state of the art.
6% Viognier ferments together with 94% Syrah in La Côte Rousse. And just as on the Côte Rôtie, this small addition provides the particularly sparkling reflections in the otherwise deep black Syrah. Its aromas are highly intense and incredibly complex: plums and red plums mingle with apricot, fig, pepper, sandalwood, camomile and rose petals. In the finish, characterised by a clear and deep minerality, the fascinating mix of flavours of La Côte merges with the utmost precision into an impressive, minute-long finish.
