Mount Mary Vineyard
The Yarra Valley, in southeast Australia, east of Melbourne. In the 1850s, Swiss settlers recognised the climatic parallels to Burgundy and Bordeaux and planted the first vines. The Mount Mary winery has been here since 1972.
Mount Mary Vinyard Quintet 2020
Founded in 1971, the Middleton family was one of the great pioneers of viticulture in the Yarra Valley. To this day, great wines such as the 2020 "Quintet" are produced here with five grape varieties. This wine is modelled on a classic Bordeaux cuvée with 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot as well as Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The wine comes from a cool year, which makes it particularly fine and elegant with perfect acidity and flattering tannins. "This is a superstar", says ROBERT PARKER, where it scores 98 points, just like JAMES HALLIDAY!
