Winery Albrecht Schwegler GRANAT Grande Cuvée 2018

"Granat' is the flagship of the Albrecht Schwegler winery's red wine fleet. The grapes for the Cuvee come from a total of six different parcels, which are matured in 100 per cent new French barriques for up to two years after fermentation and then bottled unfined and unfiltered. Just over half is Zweigelt, with just under a third Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Lemberger. A muscular, powerful body with 14% alcohol is enveloped by lush black and red berry fruit and strong spices such as pepper, allspice and juniper. The wood brings chocolate, smoke and roasted spice. A red Württemberger that couldn't be further removed from Trollinger.
